Um Best piece of advice they gave me um probably my dad would , would be uh the biggest factor in my life . Um But kind of like what I just stated , mental toughness was a big factor he taught me a lot of mental toughness , a lot of discipline . Um There's a lot of different things that will come into life .
And , you know , a lot of people don't make it to college . And I think one of the big reasons is the mental toughness and when you're young , like , especially me having a DH D and , you know , all these feelings , like it's really hard to , you know , affect that . And even college athletes , you know , we study mindfulness , we practice mindfulness just so when we go to these competitions , you know , we're mentally stronger than other people .
I try to have a schedule , but it doesn't really it doesn't really work out as much whenever I'm in the heat of the season or The semester , so I just try and roll out , stretch , take some ice baths every now and then whenever I get some time , especially after meets , I try and at least just take some downtime . So my biggest challenge , and I haven't really overcome this one yet , it's still a work in progress , staying mentally tough . That's been a big one for me .
It's all about staying calm emotionally , it's being confident in yourself . It's having the mental fortitude to get scored on a million times and to keep going . And to keep that energy up , especially most of the time we are the leaders on the field , whether that's communication wise or overall just energy in the back , and your team's gonna look at you and they need someone that is mentally strong and emotionally strong for them .
